Record Month for Joist Production at NTS

Engineered joist production at National Timber Systems reached a record level in February, totalling 1300 house plots for the month.

Nick Kershaw, managing director of NTS said: “This is a great result, based on the investment we’ve made in our production facilities to date and the strong relationship we have with our engineered joist supplier Steico”

“We have secured an extra 25% volume of I-joist this year and additional chipboard flooring volume to match production growth and customer demand.

“We’re confident we can supply 15,000 plots of custom-designed engineered joist in 2022, and plan to supply around 18,000 plots in 2023.”

NTS is investing in its production facilities again this year. Three new automated joist saws will be installed in their industry leading joist lines at Catterick and Bristol in June, and a new manufacturing site in the Midlands is being sought to further increase capacity to meet growing demand.

“Increasing production whilst maintaining quality is a team effort across the NTS sites, supported by the relationships we have built with our suppliers,” Nick Kershaw added. “And our customers can have increased confidence as a result.”
