Harry Crofton (pictured), Associate at Thornton Tomasetti, said: “This new product can have a big positive impact on the embodied carbon in our new and renovated buildings. We are excited to work with NTS to bring this innovative design to market.
“The cassette is suitable for commercial and residential developments, particularly when longer spans are needed, which will offer architects and specifiers more design flexibility alongside the significant environmental benefits of using timber. It has a strong fire resistance, excellent acoustic performance, low weight and simply looks beautiful.”
Philip Carney, NTS Technical and Innovation Director, said: “We are delighted to be working with Thornton Tomasetti and to be adding this new product to our range for the UK market in 2024.
“Our aim is always to help our customers to build more sustainable homes and workplaces through innovative design and high-quality manufacturing, based on our ‘less on site’ philosophy.”
